British 1815 Old Glory 2nd Edition

These British 28mm OG 2nd Ed. Miniatures are great valve for money to buy. Non - OG Army membership customers would cost them $41.00 to buy one 1809 or 1815 box set of 38 figures. OG Army membership card holders ($50.00 per year membership) will receive 40% discount to buy one box set which would cost $24.00 (roughly 63 cents per figure) which is a great deal. I wouldn't mix these OG 2nd Ed with OG 1st ed Napoleonic's :o) 1st Ed Napoleonic's figures have unusual head sizes (which are easily seen or noticed on the table top).....anyway.. I haven't really finish these figures, working on the white pipping for the green facings and eventually flock the bases. The figures are mounted on standard 40mm x 40mm bases to cover most wargame rules sets.

  1. Phil, you are full of surprises and other surprising work off of your painting table!

I recently bought a few of these figures wearing the earlier stovepipe shako. The OG2 Brits are very slender compared to other ranges. Your display is giving me motivation to add mine into the painting queue earlier than planned.

    Nice work!

    2. Your figs do prompt me to push my unit of 18 OG2 Brits into the painting queue although my queue is full!

Did you paint all 38 figures at one go for one regiment? If so, that is a LARGE regiment!

    3. yes painted the figures as one regiment (38 figures) worked on these figures last weekend and touch them up last one day or so...

  2. Nice looking Redcoats, Phil. I have the French 2nd Ed. - found them a tad smaller overall than both Perry and Victrix - as well as 1st Ed. British which I have. I actually put some plasticard under the French to give them some height. Otherwise very nice sculpts - wish they had been a bit larger though. Best, Dean

    1. Thanks Dean, my painting of these OG British figures is some what "average'...really a rush job. I do remember you posting at your blog about adding plastic card under the figures to give height to match up with OG 1st Edition figures...plumb forgot! :o)

  3. Sharp fellows, every one! Napoleonics is a big changeup. It's such a big changeup that I have never painted it in my lifetime of painting. BTW, what have you done with Mrs. DBA? :-)

    1. Thanks Mike, well yes and no regarding to trying out Perry, Victrix and Warlord plastic Napoleonic's.. I would rather buy/get Perry 28mm metal Bavarian Napoleonic's miniatures than putting together plastic figures...but who knows? :o)

    2. Bavarians? Are you planning to field them for the earlier period (1809) or later period (1812+)? The Germans with their crested helmets always are so interesting, are they not?

  6. As you know, I rather like Old Glory figures, and as you say, can;t beat the value. I haven';t tried any 2nd edition as yet. It is too bad they haven';t really done much to expand them since the original release, especially with regard to adding CAVALRY. :-)

    1. Thanks Pete, I know what you mean regarding to OG 2nd edition - no cavalry and artillery crews are available, perhaps the incentive is to buy OG 1st Ed. ready made Napoleonic Cavalry/Artillery crews etc. casting molds/figures.. I guess it cost more money to produce new OG 2nd Ed. casting molds?
