IV/68a Medieval Spanish

DBA 2.2

Army Composition: 1 x Gen (3Kn) 2 x 3Kn, 1 x 3Kn//4Bd or 4Lb or 2Lh, 2 x 2Lh, 1 x 4Sp, 2 x 3Ax, 1 x 4Cb, 2 x 2Ps

Here are my long over due completed Medieval Spanish. All figures are from 15mm Essex DBA army pack.It has all the options, but, wait for it, one 3Ax element missing! which is crazy... DBA army lists/rules 2.2v clearly show 2 elements of Ax......oh well..... any body have 3 spare 15mm MED Ax figures? :o)

  1. If you ask Essex they might help you out; they did with one of my packs that was missing something.

    Nice looking army, BTW!

    1. Thanks Prufrock for dropping in :)
I will take on your advise. just sent off an email to Essex Miniatures UK pointing out that their DBA Medieval Spanish Army is not accordance to DBA army lists, according to DBA 2.1 to 2.2, two Spanish Aux (6 figs) elements are compulsory...anyway I like this army it has a good punch of shock cavalry with light and missile troops supports.

      cheers

    1. Thanks Phil, I appreciate your comments. I think I have "mastered" the basing/colors for southern European i.e. Spain,Sicily, Greece, North Africa and the middle east.(Persia) with my armies....but I'm having a few headaches trying to work on a good green/brownish color scheme for Northern Europe armies like my DBA early Poles and 100 years war French....

      cheers

  3. Lovely work and your basing is excellent as well! You've been very busy lately and to great effect. I love your scratch-painted shields and flourishes on the uniforms.

Medieval Spain is a period I know little about but I can see Moorish influences in there!

  4. Thanks Monty, yeah.. I have been busy painting DBA armies during most of this year...so far finish painting the Huns, Arab conquest, Early Poles and Early Russians....over the years I been collecting DBA armies and some were given to me as birthday/Xmas gifts... I have 22 Army packs! I'm just soooooooo....crazy.. :o)
I really enjoy painting up my shields for my armies, I don't know why, maybe to test my "painting skill"? :o) your spot on regarding the Moorish influence..

    cheers
