  2. Another outstanding army and great work on the shields Phil. Another 100 shields is going to be a real test but will look great when fully assembled. It is quite a fun army to use and the ability to field Bd or Ax(S) in DBMM gives a fair bit of flexibility. No matter how many times we use Superior troops we are still constantly looking up the rules to see when the pluses apply.

    1. Thanks Lawrence, Ax(S) Bw(S) and Ps(S) are elements must have in a DBMM army or buying hypothetical point system armies. I really do like my Iberians the army is playable and fun to spread panic :o) to my opponent :o)p his/her army usually Romans!

In close combat, Superior troops generally receive a +1 modifier if they score more than their opponent in their own bound

As for Bw(S) receive a +2 modifier if they score more than their target when shooting, or a +1 if they score less when being shot at, representing better armor or skirmishing skills.

      cheers!

  3. I love your shields, and basing as well. I wish I hadn't sold my Corvus Belli Celtiberian army, sigh.

  5. Great looking armies, Phil. Iberians make a nice counter (or ally) to both Carthage and Rome, as well as one another!

    1. Absolutely I agree with you, Iberians are great to serve Carthage and Rome plus fighting amongst themselves :o) but have no Carthage/Roman armies - yet? :o)

    2. Well, I think you have a couple of future projects to complete, Phil!

    3. I doubt I will ever paint up Carthage/Roman armies. no secret I loath Romans, love Byzantines but don't like Republican/Imperial Romans. Byzantines were Roman? yes but I prefer Hellenic Influence. Greek eventually replaced Latin as the official administrative language around the 7th century under Emperor Heraclius. The Byzantines were, and perceived themselves as, the political and legal heirs of imperial Rome, while their dominant culture and language were Greek.... anyway...I'm waffling on here :o) who knows may paint up the 15mm Republican army and play the Spanish Ibersians to destroy the Romans! :o) not sure about Carthage though... cheers!

    4. How can you beat up on the Romans if you don't paint any? :-)
Carthage was one of the very first Ancient armies I painted more than 40 years ago (with later additions).

    5. I use my Byzantines elements/figures :o) as Romans. One day/weekend I will startup/paint up one Roman Republican army, which I do have the 15mm figures in a box somewhere hidden in painting room. Do you still have your Carthage Army?

    6. I sure do, and they make it onto the table pretty regularly with To the Strongest! Probably going to do a Punic Wars game at the small HAVOC convention outside of Boston the end of March!

    9. You only need one; after that, the Republic will just keep raising new Legions no matter how many they lose! :-)
