28mm Successors WIP 3

Manage to finish off the 28mm Foundry Macedonian figures painted as Successors. The miniatures are mounted on 40mm x 40mm bases. Three 40x40 bases (12cm frontage) representing one basic impetvs unit...

Commands and Colors Ancients option: displaying below, 4 strength point Heavy infantry (pike) units. I have enough units here to play CCA successors scenarios....

The units/bases above allows me to play with Hail Caesar and to The Strongest rules sets.  I like the 40mm x 40mm bases which I will use for all infantry, skirmishers etc. Cavalry bases may be an issue my commanders will be mounted on circular bases....

Thanks guys for your base size suggestions!

  3. Excellent pike Phil! I use a Hotz Mat with 5" hexes for CCA and formed infantry 4 x 4, cavalry 3 x 2, elephants and chariots 2 models a unit and single base commanders fit better when attached to units.

  6. Wow, That's a lot of lovely painted minis, welldone Phil. I think 28mm Foundry Macedonian Pikemen can mix well with 28mm Aventine Successor Phalanx minis.
    All the Best, Peter.

    1. Thanks Peter, I was thinking of buying 28mm Aventine Successor Phalanx figures but wasn't sure if the minis would mix in with Foundry figures..i.e. height comparisons etc?.. or maybe group Aventine miniatures together in their own units.. I have 28mm Crusader successor pikes seem to fit/mix well with Foundry minis..
