Finally manage to have free blog time to post updates (sorry for the delay, busy with work and real life commitments) on my 1812 Napoleonic Saxon Infantry Project (4 Regiments/ 8 Battalions) and One Foot Artillery Battery have already been based/flocked, currently working on editing more photos and should be ready for posting and for your viewing/comments? during this weekend...(my apologies for the long line of photos)
Prinz Clements Battalion |
Pre-flocked bases: Line Infantry Battalion, 4 figures per (30mm x 40mm) Command stands will have 3 figures (Officer, Standard bearer and Drummer) My Light Infantry Battalion's will have 3 figures per 30mm x 40mm bases, 2 Skirmishers per 60mm x 20mm or 30mm base, Artillery 60mm x 80mm per gun section. (Flags by GMB Designs)
Von Niesemeuschel Battalion |
Oh by the way, after painting so many Saxon Infantry (192 figures) white uniforms I now know how to paint Napoleonic "white uniforms" :o) which was a little concerning on my part because I have Westphalian, Italian and Austrian/Hungarian Infantry Battalions to paint/work on during Fall (Autumn) as well! :o)
All the best, cheers!
Fine work; they're going to look awesome when they're based!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pete, my flocking of the bases look ordinary - average.... you be the judge! ;o)
Deletecheers,
Nice job on these Phil. I'd like to some Saxons some day. Love their flags.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jason, I would love to see your painted Saxons some day too! ;o) yes the GMB flags are great,
Deletecheers,
Lovely battalions Phil!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike! :o)
DeleteExquisite brushwork Phil! I really enjoy the rear view showing all of your fine detailing on the equipment. This will be a fantastic force when based and deployed for battle. Elite figures are so full of character.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to see that work is keeping you busy!
My idea or project (plan of operations) is to put the 1812 Saxon Corps together and invade your territory and do battle (wargame) with your 28mm regiments! :oP
Deleteall the best to you Jonathan!
cheers,
An excellent plan, Phil! That would be great fun!
Delete:o) I'm seriously thinking of flying over for a day or two of wargaming. Historically the Kingdom of Saxony cost 40% of its treasury to pay for its Corps to march into Russia 1812. History may be repeating its self for me to travel (staying at a hotel, meals etc.) at your neck of the woods!..hehe .... all the best to you Jonathan...cheers,
DeleteFantastic job Phil, white is not easy, and you've done a great work on them...love the flags as well...
ReplyDeleteI agree white is or was very difficult to paint my 28mm figures, I have no problem painting 15mm miniatures, but 28mm figures was a pain in the back side :o) Thanks again Phil!
Deletecheers,
These really are coming along beautifully Phil!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence for your kind words and support - much appreciated!
DeleteSaxon foot Battery coming up in my next post.
cheers,
Sorry for missing these earlier, Phil. But these are just marvelous in their white coats and colorful facings.
ReplyDeleteno worries Dean, thanks for visiting, all the best to you Sir!
