Historical Enemies
The II/33 list is historically appropriate for games/battles against:

Later Macedonians (II/35) and Seleucids (II/19c-d).
Gallic Tribes (II/11) and Numidians (II/40).
and Pyrrhic Army (II/27)

I replaced the essex lead spears with real :o) steel wire for the Triarii, the figures look a little better, also trying out a better flocking method of bases....... umm...Soon I will post 2 more 15mm painted Armies, Camillian and Marian Romans.

15mm Republican Roman size comparison

I'm sure 15mm ministures size comparison have been done before, here are 15mm Essex Marian Republican Roman and Old Glory Marian Republican Roman. measured the essex figure from toe/boot to eyes and got about 13.9mm and the Old Glory figure from toe to eyes about 16.5mm Old Glory figures are slightly bigger or as I would say the figures are medium 15s, Essex are small 15s, Xyston figures are large 15s etc...anyway no big deal for me just a thought on 15mm figure comparison.

15mm Ancient Lusitanians

Lusitani, an Iberian people living in what is now Portugal who resisted Roman aggression in the 2nd century BC. It is uncertain to what extent the Lusitani were Celticized, though they may have been related to the Celtic Lusones of northeastern Iberia. They first clashed with the Romans in 194 bc and joined the Celtiberians in a war against the Roman presence that lasted until 179 bc.

War broke out again in 153 bc, and under the leadership of Viriathus, an excellent strategist who managed to unite many Celtiberian tribes against the Romans, the Lusitani inflicted a series of defeats (c. 147–c. 139) on Roman troops from their military camp on the Hill of Venus (Sierra S. Vincente in Spain). After Viriathus was assassinated by his aides at Roman instigation, the Lusitanians were subdued. The name Lusitania was given to a Roman province later established (27 bc) in central Portugal.

15mm Spanish Celtiberians

Celtiberians were a group of Celtic-speaking tribes who inhabited the central and eastern regions of the Iberian Peninsula (modern-day Spain) from the 6th century BC until their assimilation into the Roman Empire in the 1st century BC. They emerged from the intermingling and cultural migrating Celtic tribes from Central Europe and mixed in with indigenous Iberian peoples.

15mm Old Glory Miniatures:
Painted 48 elements (144 figures) as Scutarii - Irr Bd (F)
(16 elements are swordsmen and 32 elements armed spears)

These elements/army will be used to :o) destroy Republican Romans! :o) well I hope!
