28mm Old Glory French Dragoons

1st Edition OG French Napoleonic Dragoons for 1815 or 1805-07?

Completed two Regiments, 20th and 4th

Old Glory website links of unpainted miniatures:
French Dragoons in Reserve & Elite Dragoons in Reserve with bearskins

Attaching the Dragoon Muskets to the troopers was a pain in the back side, in some cases just wouldn't fit at all! :o) These painted Dragoons are part of a completed commission. I'm not to sure about the horse furniture, I was under the impression, white sheep skins were used for Dragoons instead of "French Cuirassier" style furniture?

  1. Artistry!

Old Glory's exaggerated animation and your painting style really bring these caricatures to life. Love the dapple and would enjoy seeing a close up of that one. It sure looks intricately rendered.

Before you ship off this commission, will we be treated to a group photo?

  3. I'm green with envy :) Nicely done, Phil. Never can have too many dragoons (or chasseurs for that matter).

  5. They came out very nicely. The green, square, "cuirassier style" saddle blankets (shabraques) are correct. The trim on the Portmanteaus should be white instead of the facing color,. but that's a minor matter. The edging to the white sheepskins, if visible, would be in the facing color. If you have an Napoleonic uniform questions, it is likely that I know or can find the answer - or at least a plausible one for the more obscure questions!
