  1. Yet another beautiful army Phil. It is always a highlight of my day seeing one of your newly completed armies..

Marian Romans are one of my favourites as you get to play many of the famous names from the Republican period. I initially missed your kind comment yesterday as I was rushing out the door to play our Saturday DBMM game where we pitted Pompey against Julius Caesar in celebration of the Ides today, so I chuckled when I saw your post this morning.

  2. Pompey vs Julius DBMM game would be fun! Legionaries Reg(O) and Raw legionaries Reg(I) Blades facing eachother would be a slog combat bounds...
are you guys using buying troops or historical order of battle list....anyway,, so :o) who won the day?...

    1. It was an absolute slog. We rolled for sides and I got Pompey and took Numidian allies to get an extra elephant, and my Caesarian opponents took some Armenian allies to get the Kn(X). I ended up being forced to fight uphill before the cataphracts could get around behind my legionaries and slowly got the worst of it. Neither of us took brilliant generals (so not Pompey and Caesar really) and all legionaries were Bd(O).

    2. Awesome! Sounds like a classic DBMM slugfest! Taking the Numidians for that extra elephant is a good move, but man, those Bd(O) (Blade Ordinary) mirrors can turn into a real "push-of-pikes" style grind where nobody dies for turns on end - but hey! the battle was fun right? :o)
